Everyone is trying to rip you off

When some friends and I were starting a business, one of my friends dads walked by in his kitchen where we were planning, and out of no where said “the thing you need to know about business is that EVERYONE IS GOING TO TRY TO RIP YOU OFF!” Then he left. Anyway he was pretty much right about business and also the same thing in raising domestic birds. Everything is trying to kill and steal them. Lost a few ducks and this duo now sleeps with the fishes, but we need to get a little more paranoid.
